President's Message

On behalf of the SHRM‑Memphis Board of Directors, it is my privilege to serve as President for the 2026–2027 term. I am honored to lead this chapter and to continue advancing our mission of supporting HR professionals across the Greater Memphis area through education, connection, and strategic impact.

As we look ahead, SHRM‑Memphis is entering a period of intentional growth and organizational strengthening. To guide our work, I have established a strategic platform focused on six core priorities that will position our chapter for long‑term success and enhanced member value.

Driving Chapter Revenue
Sustained financial health is essential to delivering high‑quality programming, professional development opportunities, and member services. We will expand revenue‑generating initiatives, strengthen sponsorship relationships, and ensure responsible stewardship of chapter resources.

Advancing Technology and Innovation
As the HR profession continues to evolve, our chapter must model the innovation we encourage in our workplaces. We will modernize our systems, enhance digital engagement, and adopt tools that improve communication, accessibility, and efficiency for the member experience.

Fostering Membership Engagement and Inclusivity
Our chapter’s strength lies in the diversity, expertise, and commitment of our members. We will cultivate an inclusive environment where all HR professionals feel welcomed, represented, and empowered to participate. Volunteer opportunities and Membership engagement will be broadened to ensure meaningful connections.

Cultivating Partnerships with Memphis‑Area Businesses and Leaders
Collaboration with local employers, community organizations, and business leaders is vital to elevating the HR profession in our area. We will strengthen these partnerships to create shared value, expand learning opportunities, and amplify the influence of SHRM‑Memphis within the broader business community.

Building Chapter Infrastructure
A strong operational foundation enables a strong member experience. We will invest in the development of our board leaders and committee volunteers. Build internal processes to ensure continuity, clarity, and long‑term organizational stability.

Strengthening Operational Policies and Procedures
To support transparency and operational excellence, we will refine and document our policies, standardize procedures, and implement best practices that reinforce accountability and consistency across all chapter functions.

These priorities reflect our commitment to serving the HR community with excellence, integrity, and forward‑thinking leadership. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated board, volunteers, partners, and members as we continue to advance the HR profession in the Greater Memphis Area.

Thank you for your continued support of SHRM‑Memphis. Together, we will build a stronger, more connected, and more innovative chapter for the years ahead.
