As we finish the first week of 2021, I want to acknowledge all of you for your diligent work in 2020 within the field of Human Resources. Although last year was filled with uncertainty, a global pandemic, and civil unrest; we managed to still rise to the occasion. Last year, SHRM-Memphis adapted to meet the needs of our membership by converting all in-person monthly events to virtual meetings, hosted a Critical Conversation Event to address the civil unrest we have all been experiencing, provided the most current and up-to-date information on the Coronavirus through our Covid-19 resource page located on the website. As the world around us shifted, SHRM-Memphis carried on with hosting our Signature Legal Conference and TN SHRM Conference and Expo as hybrid events to ensure that we continue to provide quality programming to our members.
As we navigate through these tumultuous times, our goal for 2021is to be the voice of our members, keep providing the members with relevant information on Covid-19, support member development in their field of Human Resources through our programming that is significant and impactful from diverse subject matter experts whom are viewed as leaders in the industry, create partnerships with local organizations to push forward the Getting Talent Back to Work Initiative , and highlight our members who have made significant strides in the Human Resources industry.
As President of SHRM-Memphis, I have the pleasure of working with some of the finest HR Professionals on the board. Without these hard-working individuals, not any of this would be possible. We are forever grateful for our sponsors, whom I consider as our partners in the industry, for their generous contribution to SHRM-Memphis.
